The project for DRAWING ROOM explores the possibilities of expanding the pictorial field, highlighting a group of artists who promote the intersectionality of artistic supports, with drawing as the starting point.
Noé Sendas' artistic thinking is based on the relationship between bodies and perception, applying this premise in all of his works, whether they are photographs, installations, or drawings. Each piece demands and describes a balance between photography, collage, sculpture, and drawing, blurring boundaries and interacting between various genres and artistic media.
José Bechara reuses canvas tarpaulins and applies iron and copper oxides, amplifying a permanent oscillation between genres and situating his work at the boundaries.
The figuration in Ricardo Angélico's work not only places us in a specific space but also orients and intersects axes, absorbing the gaze into an infinity of more or less subtle connections. These works can be interpreted as constantly evolving catalogs, presenting multiple graphic incidences, resulting in enigmatic and deconstructive compositions.
Mónica Capucho manipulates words, backgrounds, textures, and colors through small segments. The artist is the agent who assigns regenerative capabilities to the fragments, allowing them to form a cohesive body and creating new meanings through the combination of proportions, perceptions, and presence in space.
