PIRES VIEIRA
Since the 1970s, Pires Vieira has been developing a solid and coherent artistic practice focused on questioning and subverting the boundaries of traditional painting. His work is grounded in the deconstruction and hybridization of painting, proposing an expansion of the frontiers of this medium of expression. Pires Vieira (Porto, 1950) has had approximately 45 solo exhibitions and participated in around 75 group exhibitions. He is represented in numerous collections, including: CAM-Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, MNAC/Chiado, Culturgest/CGD, Berardo Collection/Museum, Serralves Foundation/Museum.
