The video work Path to the Stars (2022) by Mónica de Miranda follows a fictional heroine on her journey, confronting her own shadows, different temporalities and micro-narratives. The film proposes a counter-narrative composed of complex biographies that overlap and interact: from the anti-colonial freedom fighters:in the past and the insecurity of the present, the desire to belong, to the projection of a future in which a symbiosis with nature is restored.
The film Path to the stars is produced by Geração 80, supported by The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Sabrina Amrani Gallery, Jahmek Contemporary Art, Carlos Carvalho Arte Contemporânea and Beyond Entropy. Music and composition by Xullaji. Script written in collaboration with Yara Nakahanda Monteiro.
