"“Soul's Geology” evokes the idea that human souls are complex and layered, just like the geology of the Earth. Experiences, emotions and thoughts here are like geological strata, and each stratum reveals a story, a truth or a facet of the soul. The interweaving of post-colonial narratives with gender issues adds further complexity and richness to the title “Geology of Souls”. It suggests that colonial and post-colonial experiences have left deep imprints on the souls of individuals and communities, and that these imprints are still visible today."
