'Created from a journey through Japan, the project includes images of cities such as Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Koyasan, Hiroshima, and Himeji, accompanied by haikus by the classical poet Matsuo Bashō. The work continues Blaufuks’ exploration of themes such as memory and the archive, which are recurrent in his photographic, video, and editorial practice.
The magazine Electra, in its issue no. 29, featured this project in the section “Book of Hours”, highlighting the artistic significance of Portugal’s participation in one of the world’s major cultural events. Blaufuks’ presence confirms the prominent place of photography and poetic reflection in contemporary Portuguese art.
