Matheus Rocha Pitta seeks to affirm a critical position regarding the mechanisms of exchange that determine social, political and cultural relations by exploiting the existing paradoxes. Not following formal branches of knowledge, the artist creates a territory of dissent itself.
Born in Tiradentes, Brazil, Matheus Rocha Pitta works with photography, sculpture, video and installations. The artist has won the Illy Sustain Art Prize, Madrid (2008), had participated in the 9th Taipei Biennial (2014) and the 29th São Paulo Biennial (2010).
