Apparently objective and non- referential, Mónica Capucho' works display a large show-case of textures, sparkles, brushstrokes and subtle hues, containing in themselves a language only understood in a deeper analysis. The artist motivates us to observe beyond the outlook, playing hyding games, using for instance, surfaces with a similar visual result, mixing pigments for the effect, but which are different both in essence and perception to touch. The artist’ s decision capacity dwells in the composition of materials, in the textures, in their articulation with the meaning or the drawing of the word. Materiality is interpreted and understood in all its dimensions: the artist mixes concrete, wood, stone or silicone controlling their effects and the way in which they present themselves to the viewer, thinking about the temperature, the sparkle or the texture, about the attraction or coldness, the harshness or softness of the matter.
